In the warm sunshine of the early winter, every corner of Baishan School was covered with a golden dress. The students in International Department are smiling brightly. They are preparing for the assembly "Hour of Honor".
We were honored to invite the parents to our assembly so that students could share their learning outcomes with their parents.
As always, the first part of the assembly is "Honor Time". We are so proud of our students. They were honored by classmates for being balanced, principled, risk-taking, and knowledgeable, as well as having respect for others, and other good qualities.
Grade 1 students have learned many English songs in music class. Today they entertained the audience with a song called "She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain When She Comes". Their performance got a lot of applause.
"Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" is a famous story in many countries. Rudolph's red nose helped everyone and saved Christmas. Rudolph gained friends and respect. Grade 2 students performed the musical for us and left the audience with the message that everyone has something to contribute to society.
The students in Grade 8, Class 2 learned basic performance skills in drama class this semester, such as sound projection, stage guidance, comprehension shaping, role shaping and creating situations through body movements and interpretations. They showcased this new knowledge by putting on a play called "The News Done Spread," about how an uncontrolled rumor created chaos and comedy. Students paid special attention to creating tension and telling the story vividly. It is commendable that three students shared the responsibility of director and led the performers to a successful show.
The students in Grade 8, Class 3 studied environmental protection in science class this semester. Today, they gave a speech that emphasized the importance of ecological protection and gave advice about how to take protection actions.
The students in Grade 7, Class 2 recited "Chinese Spirit", advocating that everyone to greatly respect scientists, astronauts, national heroes and other worthy professions. They are the stars who children should admire.
The assembly was highly praised by the parents. Our students in International Department will adhere to the Chinese culture and Chinese spirit, study hard, forge ahead, and move toward success!
