      2020年9月刚结束的山东省青少年高尔夫锦标赛上，白珊·安妮高中十年级马俊尧Jordan M同学取得了优异的成绩。

      9岁到15岁，6年的时光，Jordan已成长为山东省青少年高尔夫球员中的佼佼者，获得了国家二级运动员资格，更在各类全国级省市级冠军赛、锦标赛中荣获无数奖项。

      每周不少于3次的下场训练，遇上赛事前，频次更高，甚至连续1-2周全天候密集训练，同时还要兼顾学业，6年时间里，这样的节奏对Jordan来说是一种常态。如果说这是一种坚持，那一定不止是热爱。

In September 2020, Jordan M, the 10th student of Baishan Annie Wright school, has achieved excellent results in the just concluded Shandong Junior Golf Championship.

From 9 -15 years old, Jordan has grown into an outstanding young golf player in Shandong Province, has obtained the national level II athlete qualification, and has won numerous awards in various national provincial and municipal Championships and championships.

No less than three times a week of training, before taking part in the competition, the frequency of practice is higher, even 1-2 weeks of continuous intensive training, but also take into account the academic. For six years, this rhythm of life is a normal for Jordan. If this is a kind of persistence, it must be more than  because of love.

     “因为高尔夫，我变得更加阳光开朗、自信、自律。随着时间的推移，我的心态在慢慢发生着变化，对高尔夫的感悟也越来越深刻。不要小瞧那颗小小的白球，它会在不知不觉间改变着你的性格，改变着你处理问题的态度。球杆一挥，球飞出去，在天空中划出一条美丽的弧线，然后轻盈的落到满意的位置，这种满足感无与伦比。当这一杆出去不如人意时，也不必气馁，因为下一杆还在你的手里，你依然有对这一场球的控制权。人生也是如此，山顶时不骄纵，谷底时不气馁，只要朝着既定的目标执着前行，总有收获到来的那天。

      打球培养了我坚韧不拔的品质。一连几天比赛，每天徒步几万步，自己背球包、推球车， 有时我实在坚持不住了，但每一次我都咬牙坚持不言放弃，让我明白了坚持的力量。”

"Because of golf, I became more cheerful, confident and self-disciplined. With the passage of time, my mentality is slowly changing, and my perception of golf is becoming more and more profound. Don't underestimate the little white ball, it will unconsciously change your character, change your attitude to deal with problems. With a swing of the club, the ball flies out, draws a beautiful arc in the sky, and then falls to the right position lightly. This kind of satisfaction is incomparable. Don't be discouraged when the shot doesn't go well, because the next shot is still in your hands and you still have control of the ball. Life is the same, not arrogant at the top of the mountain, not discouraged at the bottom of the valley. As long as you keep on moving towards the established goal, there will always be a day when the harvest will come.

Playing Golf has cultivated my perseverance. For several days in a row, I walk tens of thousands of steps every day, carry the ball bag and push the cart by myself. Sometimes I can't hold on, but every time I insist on not giving up, which makes me understand the power of persistence. "

关于学业学习与比赛时间的冲突

How to balance playing and studying

      时间是有限的，学习是无限的，学习的逻辑更是有无限空间可发挥。Jordan说： “我觉得打球和学习其实是一种双向促进的关系，打比赛虽然会占用上课时间，但是在练球的过程中，也让你更好地锻炼了逻辑性、思维性和归纳总结的能力。”

Time is limited, learning is infinite, and the logic of learning has infinite space to play.Jordan said, "I think playing Golf and learning are actually a two-way promotion relationship. Although  playing will take up class time, in the process of practicing, you can better exercise your logic, thinking and summarizing ability."

      白珊·安妮高中以培养独立学习者为目标，致力于培养学生们身心健康、综合发展。对于Jordan外出参赛，白珊·安妮高中项目主任Lorne Brandt先生是极力赞同的。

With the goal of cultivating independent learners, Baishan AWS is committed to cultivating students' physical and mental health and comprehensive development. Mr. Lorne Brandt, the director of Baishan AWS, strongly agrees with Jordan's going out to compete.

       ”作为白珊·安妮高中的一员，不仅仅意味着是课堂上的好学生；更重要的是，学校使命的一个基本部分是鼓励学生多参加课外学习，以成为更加健全完整的人才。当Jordan班主任郑老师告诉我Jordan因为一场高尔夫球赛需要请假时，我很高兴他能去参加比赛，并祝他好运！我们为Jordan感到骄傲，他在学术和体育运动之间取得了良好的平衡。

      白珊·安妮高中希望通过创造各种机会来培养学生们参与各种课外特长的热情。创建课外活动并非易事，我们衷心感谢学校领导团队的大力支持，以及组织各种课外活动所需的帮助和辛勤工作。这些活动对于培养学生取得人生成功及在大学升学中的作用是非常必要的。”

“Part of being a Baishan AWS Gator means being more than just a good student in the classrooms; Rather, a fundamental part of our mission as a school is to encourage students to develop extra-curricular learning that help create the whole person. When Jordan’s advisor, Ms. Emilia Zheng, approached me about Jordan’s need to miss lessons because of a golf tournament, I was happy to excuse the absences and wished Jordan luck.  We are proud of Jordan and how he is balancing academics with athletics.    

Baishan AWS also hopes to foster such passions in other students by creating opportunities. Creating the extra-curricular activities is not easy, and I thank the administration for the support and hard work that is needed to organize them, but they are necessary for developing the types of students that succeed in life and universities.”

New golf class makes Jordan excited 

      2020新学年，白珊·安妮高中新增设高尔夫选修课，学校新建了高尔夫室内模拟球场，聘请了职业高尔夫外籍教练。

     “我真是太意外，也太兴奋了！学校开设高尔夫选修课，每周2次，每次75分钟，这个节奏完美替代了我每周二次球场的训练模式。有了这样便利的条件，我可以充分利用时间，更好地练球。

      入学这一年多，我切身感受到学校在给学生硬件设施投资上当真是不遗余力的，学校开设的戏剧、机器人、射箭等选修课，都做到了设施设备的高标准。这非常难得，我真的非常感谢学校对我们的鼎力支持！”

In the new school year of 2020, Baishan AWS opened a new elective course of Golf, built a professional indoor simulation course, and hired professional Golf coaches to teach.

"I am so surprised and excited! The school offers golf elective courses, twice a week, 75 minutes each time. This rhythm perfectly replaces my training mode of two courses a week. With such convenient conditions, I will try my best to practice golf well.

I have been in AWS for more than one year, and I feel that the school has spared no effort to invest in the hardware facilities of students. The elective courses such as Drama, Robotics and Archery have all reached the highest standard of facilities and equipment. I really appreciate the support of our school! "

为学生拓展综合能力释放新空间

      课后选修课是非学分课程，这对于学校的课程设置和学生的在校学习都更有意义。这些课程强调白珊·安妮高中致力于培养多才多艺、全面的学生，同时帮助他们的校园生活更加有趣。尤其是美国的大学，看重的不仅仅是成绩和分数；相反，这些顶尖学校中的大多数都希望学生拥有全面的学习经验和才艺，这将证明他们的课程更有意义。

ECAs are non-credit classes that help to make school and learning meaningful. These are the classes that help emphasize Baishan AWS's dedication to developing well-rounded, holistic students while helping to make their school-life more interesting. American universities, in particular, value more than grades and scores; most of these top schools want to know that their students have well-rounded experiences that will prove to make their courses more meaningful.

Although finding and scheduling expert ECA instructors and coaches is not easy, the Baishan AWS administrative staff persists in making the opportunities available for our students.

      说到未来，大男孩Jordan一脸笃定，在升入大学之前打进全国青少年高尔夫锦标赛，大学到美国学习运动训练先进理论体系。“高尔夫之路精彩而漫长，我会选择坚持和希望，让自己变得更加优秀!"

作为十年级的学生，Jordan目前正在积极的探索美国大学高尔夫专业学习相关学校。2年后的今天，让我们一起期待他的荣耀时刻！

Jordan’s dedication and outlook on the future, along with participating in the National Junior Golf Championship, will help his college admissions. Planning to go to the United States to learn the advanced theoretical system of sports training. “The road of golf is wonderful and long. I will choose persistence and hope to make myself better! “

As a 10th student, Jordan is currently actively exploring universities in the U.S. with good golf programs. Baishan AWS is excited to see how he progresses over the next several years.
