ATL (Learning Method Skills)

The IB program identifies five categories of learning methodologies, which are communication, social, self-management, research and thinking skills. This can help students learn how to learn. The leader teacher and the ATL head teacher will take the daily morning breaks from 8:00 am to 8:15 am and use different theme activities to help students understand, develop and master their skills. These educational reforms break through the traditional discipline-oriented teaching methods and transition to skills-based and process-oriented learning, advocating a learning style that is self-regulated by students.

Mental health education course

The mental health courses are for all the students. We carry out preventive and developmental mental health education and provide remedial and corrective counseling to a few of students who have mental distress and psychological disorders so as to enhance their psychological quality and fully develop their potential and to cultivate students’ optimistic, upward psychological quality, which promote the healthy development of students’ personality as the goal. For different sections, we carry out different mental health education and counseling.

The main purpose of Grade 7 is to develop students’ self-discipline and habits of mind. We help students adapt to the learning environment and learning requirements of junior middle schools, clarify their roles, develop their correct concept of learning, learn how to learn, live and communicate and initially grasp the psychological health knowledge.

Grade 8 is mainly facing with learning strategies and the adjustment of psychological anxiety. So we help students understand the basic knowledge of mental health and the formation of mental health awareness. We also help them master the simple method of psychological adjustment, gradually learn to adjust and control their emotions and wills, and transform from immature to adult-like behaviors.

Grade 9 is facing the problem of pressure to go to advanced school. So we try to help them break through the pressure, and let them gradually adapt to various changes in life and society.

Students' psychological potentials and psychological quality are improved by exerting influence on students, improving students' cognitive structure, developing students' non-intelligence factors such as interests, habits and intentions as well as self-awareness and cognition.
